The Building Management System (BMS) has existed in various forms for decades, and the technological substructures of these systems in today's buildings closely resemble those of the 1980s and '90s. Lacking the adaptability offered by the Internet of Things (IoT), these conventional systems remain inflexible, highly tailored, resource-intensive, and costly. Although traditional BMS is being incorporated into the project plans of numerous new, sizable developments and retrofitted into certain commercial buildings to enhance efficiency and comfort, its functionality predominantly operates offline and is unnecessarily complex given the capabilities of contemporary technology.
